Warning to Exhibitors and Visitors
The Convention Expo Travel and Global Housing Management (GHM)
We have received a complaint from an exhibitor in relation to the practices of the above company. The complainant claims that this company has been contacting them on a regular basis regarding booking hotel accommodation. The company is stating that they are working officially on behalf of Sustainabilitylive! We would like to make it plainly clear that we have absolutely no formal agreement in place with The Convention Expo Trade or GHM. If you are contacted by this company and if they claim to be working with any of our shows, we would suggest that you do not progress to conversation any further, and that you contact us immediately to inform us of the approach.
It has been brought to our attention that our exhibitors are being approached to promote their participation at the show in two guides; ''The Exhibitors Fair Guide'' and ‘The Expo-Guide’. The letter is written to be misleading and what appears to be an offer of a FREE listing, will actually significantly cost your company. Faversham House Group does not endorse this ''guide'' and we urge you to disregard any correspondence you may receive from Construct Data Verlag GmbH in relation to an ''Exhibitors Fair Guide'' and Commercial Online Manuals S de RL de CV in relation to an ‘Expo-Guide’.
The AEO (UK Association of Exhibition Organisers) is also looking into the practices of Construct Data and has issued the following advice for those companies who are already subscribed to the Fair Guide.
“Following close correspondence with an organisation named ACID (Anti Copying in Design) the AEO has established that Construct Data has never carried out their threat of legal action against non-payers. If exhibitors have already subscribed to the Fair Guide, and feel the need to respond to the debt chasing, please inform Construct Data that you have been advised ‘not to pay’ by the UK Association of Exhibition Organisers and by the Austrian Embassy in London’. Also that both the Austrian and UK Government authorities are aware of, and are looking into their practices”.
