RNLI SAIL TOWARDS £175,000 DONATION
- UK charity achieves target donation for 2011 through recycling –
UK based company The Recycling Factory has helped national charity RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) reach an amazing fundraising target of £175,000 for 2011. The funds were raised through the recycling of inkjet and toner cartridges, mobile phones and gadgets such as digital cameras, MP3 Players, hand-held game consoles and satellite navigation systems.
Earlier this year, The Recycling Factory announced that it was already ahead of schedule by raising £140,000 of the overall total target, but to raise the additional £35,000 in just eight weeks is an amazing achievement, and it couldn’t have been done without the help of RNLI supporters.
Emma Martin, Corporate Partnerships Officer for the RNLI said:
“We are delighted that our partnership with The Recycling Factory continues to go from strength to strength. Reaching our 2011 target of £175,000 a month early is a great achievement, and has only been made possible through the generous contributions of RNLI supporters. With our coastal waters getting busier year on year the need for funds has never been greater, so please keep on recycling!”
The RNLI is independent of UK government funding, relying upon volunteers and voluntary donations to maintain its service. The total amount raised through their recycling partnership so far this year would offset training for 138 crew members or pay towards the cost of 1166 crew pagers.
It is so simple to start supporting the RNLI through recycling. You can contact The Recycling Factory on 0800 091 0696 or email rnli@trf-uk.com to request freepost envelopes or for further information about the scheme.
The Recycling Factory encourages businesses and individuals to recycle their used ink cartridges and mobile phones and has already raised over £2 million for its charity partners. The company collects and remanufactures over 700,000 inkjet cartridges per month at their site in Boston, Lincolnshire.
