Southern Water scores a hat-trick at WIA Awards!!!

Southern Water is celebrating having scooped up three trophies at the Water Industry Achievement Awards, held last night (Wednesday) at the International Convention Centre in central Birmingham, and organised by sister journals WET News and Water & Wastewater Treatment.

The company won the People Initiative of the Year, sponsored by Anglo Technical Recruitment, and Health & Safety Initiative of the Year. And to cap it all, Southern Water was crowned Outstanding Innovation 2009, sponsored by Ofwat, for its Developing Our Young People apprentice training scheme.

More than 330 guests attended the Water Industry Achievement Awards, which were hosted by award-winning comedian Rhod Gilbert, and helped raise more than £5,000 for the charity WaterAid.
