    Erwin Ruoff studied physics at the University of Karlsruhe. After his diploma he worked 5 years at the institute of productions science in the field of production informatics at the institute of production science. From 2004 until October 2011 he was Head of Metering Management and meter testing laboratory for Electricity, Gas, Heat and Water at the local utility in Karlsruhe. Today he is head of Energy Management at Volkswohnung a large local social housing company in Karlsruhe. In both jobs he did a lot of work implementing smart metering systems as a help for customer to save energy.
