    Seminar Details
Energy demand reduction must play a key role in the transition to a low carbon energy economy in the UK that is secure and resilient. As well as delivering benefits to the energy system from the perspectives of demand management and billing, the UK Government hopes that the roll out of smart meters will be a key facilitator of behavioural change in householders, resulting in a significant reduction in energy demand. This seminar considers why behaviour change is so important, the current research into the effect of enhanced feedback on behaviour change in householders and what lessons can be learnt by policymakers and stakeholders.
