Sustainabilitylive! 2012 Seminar Programme - The first recycling process for food grade post consumer Polypropylene

Polypropylene (PP) is the biggest single plastic used in packaging yet it is recycled at 7% compared to 70% and 50% respectively for HDPE and PET. Novel technology allows PP food packaging to be completely decontaminated and reused in a closed loop back into food packaging. The new process meets the requirements of European Food Standards Authority and will allow recycled PP to displace virgin PP with savings on resources, emissions and landfill (288 ktpa is land-filled in UK and 1.1 Million in EU). This presentation will be of interest to retailers, brand owners and recyclers that want to be able to close the loop on PP.
