A WEEE Recycler's view of the forthcoming developments - financial impacts, legal complexity and increasing bureaucracy to be faced by every company in the country. Covers the fight against illegal waste shipments and what you can do to protect your position, the expected impact of the Green Investment Bank, the WEEE Recast and the danger of mixing the concepts of 'Cost' and 'Value' as the legal positions change. It looks at the conflict between WEEE Compliance schemes that has been set up in the UK and how this could be impairing the chances of companies to get the ?best? returns. Finally it will address how there are optimal solutions that enhance both market position and financial returns. Focused on all companies that produce, use or dispose of electronic products - aimed at senior corporate managers and Directors as an injection of technical detail into the whys and wherefores behind the changes going on within the WEEE world. Applicable to Finance Directors and Company Secretaries as much as Managing Directors and Sales/Marketing Directors - all are impacted and the potential downsides of getting this wrong are catastrophic for a company in this politically correct world. This will raise awareness of the incipient changes, encourage companies to apply strategic thought to how they handle WEEE rather than leaving it to the office junior. The issues apply throughout the company and would require a cross-the-board response if things went wrong - so should be addressed by a wider strategic approach in making sure nothing does.
