Generating renewable energy from waste - Opportunities and Challenges for development of infrastrucure in the UK
| Date/Time: | 24 May 2012 14:15-14:30 |
| Location: | Environmental and Land Remediation Theatre |
Seminar Details This presentation will discuss Resource Efficiency Pathway's hands-on experience in helping companies to maximise benefits by integrating renewable energy and waste management to generate new income streams, cut costs and reduce carbon footprints.
Key considerations include waste feedstock supply and logistics, synergy with existing business, selection of technology, site considerations, risk identification, economic viability and bankability. The economic analysis of projects should take into account gate fees, capital costs, operating costs, government incentives such as ROCs, FITs and RHI as well as avoided costs such as landfill tax.
We also examine ways to speed up waste to energy infrastructure development through co-location and joint venture development.
Who should attend?
- CEOs and directors of companies interested in developing waste to energy infrastructure in the low carbon economy
- CEOs and directors of companies in the waste to energy supply chain such as construction companies, technology providers, financiers and investors.
Delegates will learn about opportunities for developing waste to energy infrastructure, together with the key considerations and examples of how to overcome the challenges.
