Seminar Details It has long been aknowledged that the installation of specialist materials is paramount in their achieving their design purpose. Standards in Containment geomembrane lining have been in existence for over 20 years but it has taken until 2010 to achieve the same for construction membranes. The new National Occupational Standards for gas membrane installation lead the way in offering a defined standard for installation, defining minimum expectations to both regulators and installation operatives. Coupled with NVQ level 2 qualifications and new work on system validation this offers a whole new framework upon which to base expectations and requirements. The presentation will explain the background and detail of the new standards and discuss how far this can take the industry forwards. The presentation will discuss the development of the NOS for gas membrane installation, the NVQ level 2 installation qualifications available and ongoing work involved with validation of installed systems.
It will be of interest to designers, providers and regulators involved with this aspect of ground gas management as well as all construction professionals wishing to extend their knowledge in this specialist area.
