    Seminar Details
    - A novel approach to electrocoagulation has been developed in which floc generation has been improved. This has been achieved through manipulating the environment in which floc is electrochemically formed alongside optimisation of downstream processing. This novel method overcomes some of the traditional limitations of conventional electrocoagulation treatment such as; electrode surface fouling, overdosing, and passivation. From this development, floc produced has shown to be more resilient to shear factors, form larger macro-sized aggregates, and have faster settlement rates. This has resulted in improved contaminant removal rates, shorter settlement times, and super-clarified supernatant volumes. Other advantages include a reduction in equipment footprint and reduced maintenance and power consumption costs with corresponding impact on capital and operating costs. It is concluded that electrocoagulation treatment through optimised dosing is superior to traditional electrocoagulation. - The presentation is of interest to those looking for alternatives to chemical treatment (coagulation)and small footprint systems. - The presentation introduces a novel method of implementation of Electrocoagulation and its benefits.
